Review: Empties (Spring 2014)

Hi guys!

Here's another series of products that I have used up over spring so I'm going to jump right in.

Firstly, I have finished burning a Leaves candle from Bath and Body Works. I decided to try this because it is so highly raved on Youtube. Leaves is a really suitable scent for fall. I must say that this isn't really for me because I tend to favor the gourmet scents more. By the way, BBW candles are REALLY strong. This candle was slightly overwhelming when I put it on the desk right beside me so I really recommend burning BBW candles in a distance. Also, I'm not sure why the candle glass has turned a little ashy. Is it supposed to be that way?

I have also finished using up the Mango Shower Gel from The Body Shop. I'm not a great fan of mango scents so I don't really have anything that great to say about this.

This is the Eggpore Blackhead Out Oil Gel from Tony Moly. I have actually finished using two of these. To me, it's just a normal cleanser. I would still use another facial wash after using the blackhead out oil gel because I feel like it tends to leave my face a little sticky and I always like my face to be sparkly clean. This claims to remove blackheads but I don't think it works that well after using up two of these. It does have tiny beads in the gel which I suppose helps to remove the blackheads. Blackheads are not easy to remove and if a facial wash could do that so easily, everyone would not have blackheads anymore. Nevertheless, I'm glad I tried this out since a lot of Korean girls talk about this but I guess it didn't really work for me.

I'm not a great fan of the packaging too because the product is only on the bottom half of the container. I knew this before I bought this but it may be misleading to others. I just don't like packaging that takes up more space than it actually needs.

I have finished using up another Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream. For now, I would not be repurchasing this since I am really liking the Sana moisturizer and I always like to try out different products. But overall, I really like this and I have a full review written on this already, which you can read here

Next, I'm glad to say that I have finally finished using up the Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera Gel. Okay firstly, this container is HUGE. There is so much product in here and I clearly remembered that I got it for only 4400Won in Korea, which is really inexpensive for the amount of product I am getting. As for the product itself, I don't recommend you to use this as a moisturizer. I remember in the winter, when I went out and only wore this as a "moisturizer", I came back with skin peeling off my face and my face was painful for a week or so. Thus, I only use this as a soothing gel. This is excellent for mosquito bites or minor cuts. I also use this when my skin itches (mainly because my skin is rather dry) and it really helps to stop the itch.

It's sad to say that I have used up another bottle of the Etude House Silk Scarf Repair Hair Essence. I don't know what's in this thing but it just makes my hair so smooth. I already wrote a review on one of my previous empties blog post. You can read about it here. I REALLY LOVE this so much and I don't know what I would do without it. I really wished it came in a larger bottle so that I don't run out of this so quickly.

Another product that I absolutely love and will definitely repurchase is the Innisfree Apple Juicy Clearing Oil. This is a makeup remover and this is really, really good. You know that I am a picky person and I always like to find something that works wonders and this it it. It removes makeup so well especially eye makeup. I must say that the formula is rather thick and I would like if it was slightly thinner so that I don't have to use so much each time I remove my makeup. Other than that, I really, really love this. I already asked one of my Korean friends, Julia, to help me pick this up when she goes back to Korea over the summer.

The next product that I have used up is the Vanilla Body Butter from The Body Shop. While writing this post, I realized that I forgot to take photos of the Body Butter but instead, I took photos of the body lotion. I would say that I like the body lotion more. I'm pretty sure that they might have repackaged it; perhaps the bottle comes in a different color now. I got the body lotion a long time ago during the Christmas season and I'm not particularly sure if you can only get this during Christmas. I really really love this scent because it's just so yummy. I also like this because the consistency is thin, but it moisturizes really well and does not leave my skin greasy. I have mentioned this in my previous empties post but I will just mention this again since I really like this.

The Vanilla Body Butter was too greasy for my liking.

That will be all I have for my spring empties! Thank you so much for reading :)

Forever 21 and H&M Summer Haul 2014 (After Finals)

Hi guys!

Recently, I went shopping with my homies at Nanjing Road in Shanghai and I picked up some items from Forever 21 and H&M. Actually, I thought I would buy so many more clothes but perhaps I wasn't very lucky that day and nothing really caught my eye. There was also quite a number of people shopping and you know how I hate when there is a lot of people when I am shopping so I kinda lost the mood to shop.

I'm starting off with the things I got from Forever 21. Firstly, I got a pink bath sponge for 8.90RMB. I never knew that bath sponges could help foam up my body wash so much. I have been wasting way too much body wash in the past. And this feels really good on the skin too.

The only clothing I got from Forever 21 was from the sales section and it was a sky blue sweater. The original price was 179RMB but I think I got it for 110RMB. Honestly, I literally have no winter clothes. If you compare my summer wardrobe to my winter wardrobe, you will know that I'm not lying. So, buying more sweaters never hurt!

Urgh I'm out of focus here.

I went to H&M next and I got a tee that is TOTALLY ME. It says "Beach Please". Hahahahaha do you get it. I got this for 79.90RMB and I got it in S since I wanted it to be more like a crop top and M was slightly too large.

I also got a pair of mid-thigh shorts partly because in my grandma's opinion, all my shorts are "too short". I don't actually have longer shorts too and this was selling for 179RMB. I think that H&M jeans are rather good quality jeans and I like buying shorts from H&M more than from Forever 21 because they actually have better sizes like 34 or 38. Forever 21 shorts never really fit me too well because an L is way too loose for me but an M is too short for me and it's tight around my booty.

The last clothing I got from H&M is a cream colored dress. I REALLY love the pattern on this dress and this is totally my style. The fit of the dress is a little small and I usually wear size 36 but I have to get this in size 38. I got this dress for 149RMB.

Goodbye Sophomore Year!

Hi guys!

School just ended on Friday and what does that mean...

IT'S SUMMER TIMEEEEEEE!

However, it also means that I am going to be a junior next year and next year will be so busy and it will suck so much. But no worries, I got this.

I'm writing this post to thank the people that made this year an awesome year. These are the photos that mean the most to me. Some of my other photos are on my Facebook and if you want to view them, click here.

THURSDAY:
Firstly, I have an amazing photography class. I will always remember the "sexual harassments" and the "don't touch me"s in the darkroom.

This is my wonderful APUSH class. Lol guys we survived APUSH. Let's give ourselves a round of applause.

I'm sure you have met Cookie already. I had fun in PE with her!

Loving my PE class taught by the best PE teacher on Earth!

I'm so sad that Mr Gibson is leaving. :( He's literally like so funny and nice.

No one can beat my derp face.

Doing my signature pose with Mr Gibson! He did it well. I APPROVE.

I'm so sad that Gregg is leaving too. He's the most hipster teacher I've ever met.

JE is really sassy and she's so nice :)

No words can express how I love this girl <3 My awesome fellow Singaporean.

This photo is actually really funny LOL. Hannah's always like "Richieeeeeeee!" in class.

Lol meet my not so productive math buddy.

Here's Jinglin! I'm so thankful I got to know him so much better this year. He's actually so nice. I really look forward to having classes with him next year!

OUTFIT TIME.

Daisy dress: Hollister
Cream-colored cardigan: H&M
Army green shoes: H&M

FRIDAY:
I'm really going to miss Cindy. She's the funniest and swag-iest senior I've ever met! I could write a whole essay on why I am going to miss her but let's just keep it short and simple here.

We have bright modeling careers ahead of us.

Here's to my closest friends.

Gotta take a step further with this photobomb right? So tell me I'm amazingly creative.

:)

Vivian is so smart and so musically talented! I'm glad to have her as a friend.

Nicole is a great friend and I know I can always trust her.

One of my favorite person is leaving, and that is Ms Streett, my counselor. She has seriously helped me so much in SAS and I'm going to miss her soooo much.

Overall, Sophomore year was really busy for me, and that was mostly because of my intensive classes. A lot of good things happened to me this year, such as being able to serve in Student Council, leading Photo Club and getting an MVP award for JV1 Basketball. Of course, there were obstacles (such as my grades that never went up) too. However, I enjoyed this year and I got to know more people. I hope that in junior year, I will continue to interact with all my friends and the new friends I have made instead of just studying 24/7.

Thank you to everyone once again!
