STUCO Movie Night and International Fair 2013

Hey guys!

So last Friday, STUCO planned a Movie Night for the Sophomores and we watched Despicable Me 2! I loved the movie so much even though I watched it before the Movie Night. I know not a lot of people turned up (only Hannah came from my group of friends and I was pretty disappointed), but those who went really enjoyed it. IF YOU DIDN'T GO, YOU MISSED OUT. WE HAD PIZZA TOO.

My favorite scene.

Popcorn! I miss Singapore's Golden Village movie theater popcorn. Seriously, that is the best popcorn ever. It's just so sweet and yummy.

And that's me popping popcorns with JE. I look like I wasn't ready for the camera at all. Oh well.

Movie's starting.

And then on Saturday, SAS hosted the annual International Fair. Okay I was EXHAUSTED. I had  back to back shifts from 11am all the way to 4pm. I think I may have lost weight by standing and walking continuously for a really long time. I'm so busy from schoolwork and other stuff that I barely had time to go around and check out other booths. Right after my last shift, I went home.

So from 11am-12pm, I was at the Community Service lollipop booth. The game was really easy and I think we earned quite a lot because kids like lollipops. I'm not a kid but I can't deny I like lollipops too.

From 12-1pm and from 2-3pm, I was at the STUCO booth and I manned the Duckie wheel game. There were two other games but I wasn't in charge of those. A lot of kids played too!

Yup this is the Duckie wheel. You win candies.

I had Photo Club shifts from 1-2pm and from 3-4pm. We took digital file photos and polaroids for people! And we made props so that's cool stuff. I'm so glad that we earned a lot. I spent 1000+ kuai on the polaroids. Being the secretary, I will still like to thank everyone who helped out! I'm so proud of all of you. (:

Our backdrop.

These were some polaroids I took. I know you can't really see anything. I took all these photos on my iPhone.

Update On Etude House Haul (October Break 2013 Seoul and Jeju Island Trip)

Hey guys.

So, I'm really starting to hate one thing I got from Etude House. This was the Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in Peach Sugar Cake. It makes my lips look SO DRY. Plus, I applied lip balm before I applied this. Nowadays when I use it, it really enhances any cracks in my lips. I hate this. So now I can only use this as a cheek stain.

I've seen many Youtube videos talking about this actually but it really isn't that good. Maybe it's just my lips or maybe everyone else is sugar coating.

Yup I don't want to go to school looking like that.

To All The Graduating Secondary School Singapore Kids

So, yesterday was the last day of school in my old school and once again, my Instagram is spammed with all their photos. I think I could have seen all 400 people in my grade at that time.

But that's okay.

I want to tell you guys what I wanted to say in my video to you all during Prom Night (which was not included in the class video).

First of all, people leave and that's something I have learnt and accepted. I hope you have someone who truly cares about you and will keep in touch with you no matter how busy they are. You're gonna meet new people anyway but do keep a few close ones with you.

Secondly, be appreciative of all the people around you because they made you a better person, especially your teachers. I find that some people take others for granted and once you realize how much they actually meant to you, it's too late.

Lastly, and most importantly, keep your own promise of keeping in touch with others because if you don't talk to others when you say you will, it's kinda hurtful.

That's all I have to say. I hope you guys had a wonderful and meaningful time throughout your secondary school life *inserts satisfied face emoji*.

*On a side note, I knew Prom was on the 20th of November and I was thinking of flying back to Singapore just to crash prom but I realized it was a Wednesday and it was in the middle of a school week. Oh well.

Etude House Haul! (October Break 2013 Seoul and Jeju Island Trip)

Hey guys!

This is my review for the stuff I got from Etude House. (: *I tried to keep the lighting and the product on the photo as close as possible in reality. Some photos may not look that good because I barely edited it.

I'm gonna start off with this Etude House Ice Cream Nails nail polish in #OR202. It's more opaque than I expected and it needed 2 coats (which is the standard number of coats for most nail polishes) to become opaque. I'm really happy about the quality of this Etude House nail polish since I only got it for 2000Won, which is around $2USD. I think this is comparable to OPI or Essie nail polishes, which cost around $8USD on average. Sometimes, I feel that Essie nail polishes aren't as opaque as I thought they will be. It's a really good buy and I really recommend this if you visit Korea! Etude House is almost everywhere on the streets.

Next up, I got the Etude House Silk Scarf Repair Hair Essence. To be honest, I really hate my hair and they are seriously dried out at the ends. I think my hair is so bad that it hasn't really grown for a year or so. Maybe it did grow but it wasn't noticeable at all. Some of my friends' hair grows at lightning speed.

I got 2 of these. Each at 13000Won.

I picked this up just to moisturize my hair a little bit especially at the ends. When I use this, I feel that my hair turns really silky and that's really comforting to me. I wonder if this can help me get healthy hair one day and that I don't have to keep relying on this to get silky ends.

And now... This is the Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in (#OR202) Peach Sugar Cake. This smells awesome. I'm starting to love peach scents and this really smells like a peach cupcake. The packaging is also really cute! <3 I forgot what's the price of this one. I think it was around 6000Won?

You can use this as a lip balm or as a cheek stain. It's not as moisturizing as my Philosophy Hope In A Stick lip balm.
I will be wearing this as a lip balm more often. This color is really faint and light and that's good in a way that I can wear this to school and I won't be getting any weird stares. But, I don't think that I will not be wearing this to concerts or dinners because I have lipsticks that are just more opaque.

It could have been better because when I put it on, it sort of enhances the cracks in my lips. I have really dry lips and I can never go without a lip balm for a day. So I do have to put on a lip balm, and then this, and then blend it out for quite some time especially at the cracks. It doesn't bother me that much since I usually do my lips in my car so I have lots of time.

When you take out the lid itself, it is a little orange in color, but when you apply it onto your lips it turns out more pinkish. I feel like this is a wonderful color for spring.

This was after some blending out.

Another lip product I got was the Dear My Blooming Lips-talk lipstick in #PK010. It's called Saechimhan Pink. I got this for 8500Won which is pretty inexpensive. I find that Korean cosmetics are all not too costly.

It has the same problem as the Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color, that it enhances the cracks in my lips. It's a really subtle pink. It's lasting power is okay. Most of the time, I reapply lipsticks/lipgloss after I eat so it doesn't matter too much for me. Cute packaging. I think this is one of the lipsticks I can wear on more formal school days like speeches or presentations? Also, it is kind of a satin lipstick so there's not too much glitter or too much shine to it.

This was also after some blending out.

I got two of these Etude House Lash Perm All Shockcara mascara.

I think.
It's called the "All Shockcara" because.
It's shocking that it's not waterproof when it claims that it is.

I AM SO MAD AND DISAPPOINTED. I asked the staff if it was waterproof. They said yes. And then I checked the packaging itself, it said yes too. PLUS, I got two of these. This is so stupid. Like, you don't have to lie that you're not waterproof right?

The reason that I'm so pissed off is because I'm running out of my Heroine Make Kiss Me mascara (I think that is what it's called) and that thing is awesome. I desperately need a waterproof mascara so I got two. They were pretty inexpensive too. Each one costs 8000Won.

DON'T GET THIS GUYS. If you want to get a mascara, I suggest you get the Heroine Make Kiss Me mascara I have. It's a Japanese brand and it's the best mascara I have ever used so far. I didn't know it was waterproof until I used it because the words on the packaging are all in Japanese and I can't read Japanese. It holds curls perfectly and it doesn't really clump.

It looks like this:

Here comes the oh so shocking mascara:

You see that? It clearly says that it is waterproof.

It doesn't hold a curl. It's no much better than my natural lashes. They just droop down after a while.  Furthermore, it is not volumizing AT ALL.

Because it's brush is so thin, and the bristles are so tiny, I feel like it takes a lot more effort for me to apply the mascara and make my lashes look fuller. Sure, it aims to prevent clumping but time is precious in the morning my friends. I don't want to wake up earlier just so I have more time to put on mascara. It's not supposed to take up time at all.

It got washed off. Guess I can't wear this on PE days.

Yup, so this was pretty disappointing. DON'T GET THIS.

Now for eyeliners! I got this Proof 10 Auto Pencil in Ocean Blue (#BL601). It's a dark blue eyeliner pencil. I've always wanted a blue eyeliner pencil and now I have one! :D It was on sales and I got it for 4200Won which is almost $4.20USD. PRETTY CHEAP YEAH. I think it is supposed to be waterproof? It says so on the website.

I think Etude House is substituting "water resistant" with "water proof". Something that is water resistant isn't something that is waterproof. It's like what happened to my mascara. This is pretty water resistant I will say, so it's not bad and I'm quite satisfied. It should last longer than normal eyeliners and it is less prone to smudging. I think I can go swimming in this, but I'm not someone who will die without wearing my eyeliner.

This was after a little scrubbing. It stays on pretty well.

This was after I went into the shower and really cleansed my face and eyes. What's good is that it isn't smudgy, it just became faint. The last thing I want to look like is a racoon.

Another eyeliner I got is the Creamy Pencil Drawing Show in Turn Gold (#BE102). This is just gold in color. It's not like super bright gold. So it's good on normal school days where I want to make it go with my outfit. This can also act as a nice highlighter to the eyes. This is a great color for festive occasions like Christmas or New Year's Eve! :)

*Sorry about the bad lighting. I took the earlier pictures at night but my room was kinda dark.

This was after showering as well. I think it had a little fallout below the waterline. It's okay though. It's not that obvious.

AND NOW. I've been searching desperately for this product everywhere because it has 5 different colored eyeliners! This is the Etude House Creamy Pencil Color Pop Drawing Show. I went to 4-5 stores (including duty free stores) to find this. It was at the very last moment on the last night of my Korea trip that I finally found you *inserts Enrique Iglesias voice*

I got this for 15400Won and THAT'S REALLY WORTH IT.

So the packaging is pretty nice.

This is the Black eyeliner. I'm currently using a Victoria's Secret black eyeliner but I can't find it on their website anymore. I think they keep changing their products so I won't be able to link it here but I think it is called Eye Precision liner. It smudged every single time I used it so I'm hoping that this new one I got won't smudge that often.

I think this has a little bit of glitter in it but it's not very visible.

It's not waterproof and it smudges so I won't be wearing this to swimming unit during PE.

This is the brown eyeliner.

It's not waterproof as well but it's less obvious when smudged.

I'm not doing any other waterproof tests after this since it's clearly obvious I shouldn't be wearing this to swimming but it's kind of water resistant.

This is the maroon eyeliner! I will seldom wear this to school because I think it's a more rare color and people will probably think I'm weird? This will be good for Halloween though :3

Quite intense yeah?

This orange eyeliner is absolutely perfect for pool parties during the summer. It's a really bright orange. I wanted a turquoise eyeliner but I have yet to find one. Oh and I can probably wear this to the beach too during sunset it will look awesome I can already picture it.

And the last eyeliner is a sparkly pink color. It's really light in color. So I'll be using this as a highlighting color as well. I think it will look really nice in the winter.

As you can see, you can barely see any color.

Yup and so that's all for my Etude House haul. (: Do keep in mind this is only from one store so... But I didn't get as many stuff as in Etude House from the other stores.

So. Etude House is really inexpensive and some of it's products are pretty good. My favorites are the Color Pop eyeliners and the nail polish. Also, if you're someone really into cute packaging, then Etude House is great for you. I'm not that type of person and I don't care as much for the packaging just as long as the product has a good quality.

Hope you guys/girls enjoyed this post and find it helpful if you're planning to shop at Etude House one day!
