Review: Empties (Declutter) (Spring 2016)

Hey guys!

Recently, I wrote an empties post and featured a bunch of stuff that I liked. This is another empties post, but it is more of a declutter than empties. I basically found a bunch of products (mostly eyeliners) that I did not really use anymore, or are not up to my standards, or have lost their color payoff.

Additionally, most of these products are bought at least a year ago, so they may not be available anymore.

I would also like to mention that I changed the lighting towards the end so you can better see the swatches.

Since I wouldn't use most of them anymore and they are just taking up space, I thought I should really throw them away, or in my case, I actually used them to draw. I hope you'll enjoy this so let's get started.

The first product I'm tossing away is the Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in Peach Sugar Cake. If you would like to see how this really enhances cracks in my lips, you can read my previous post here. I just never really got a lot of use out of this and I probably never will anyway.

Another product I'm tossing away from Etude House is the Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil in PK104. This came in a set of 5 eyeliners, which you can view in a previous post here. I managed to save the other 4 eyeliners by just scraping off the exposed portion and sharpening them again. This is actually a REALLY beautiful pink, but somehow this pencil is so soft that every time I try to sharpen it, it just breaks off. When I try to draw a line, it breaks too.

I can't deal with chunks of eyeliner coming off every time.

The next product I'm throwing away, which happens to also be from Etude House, is the Proof 10 Auto Pencil in Ocean Blue (#BL601). I tried saving this as well but it just remained hard and the color has faded.

I wanted to toss the next product, which is the NYC Kohl Brow/Eyeliner Pencil in 921 Jet Black. However, I actually ended up keeping it because I thought it would make a decent eyebrow pencil. I initially wanted to use this as an eyeliner but it did not glide onto my lids smoothly and was not pigmented enough. I guess I'll still be keeping this but I just wanted to let you know I wouldn't use this as an eyeliner.

The next product I'm tossing is the Maybelline Master liner. Although the swatch is rather pigmented, this doesn't glide easily onto the lids.

I also tossed the Cyber Colors 24hr Flat Liner Pen simply because nothing came out of the pen anymore. I also wouldn't recommend using a tip like this because it just complicates things unnecessarily.

The next toss-away is my very first eyeliner I bought back in 2012. It's the Sasatinnie Waterproof Retractable Eye Definer in 01 Black. It seriously is past its expiry date.

Another Maybelline product I'm throwing away is the Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner. This is actually almost an empty since I had to keep dipping the brush back in when I wanted to reapply. But overall, this is also probably way past its expiry date.

At this point, I decided to switch sides when I was taking photos and somehow the lighting was A LOT better.

This is the Milani Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner. I did not use this much but somehow it dried out at the tip, but still had a lot of product towards the back of the brush. It is alright if I lined my eyes by pressing the brush down so that the back of the brush touches my lids, but it's a hassle and I get a line that is thicker than what I like. Overall, it is not a bad product, but I personally do not think the way the liner is shaped helped make application a lot easier.

Another product that has dried up on me is the K-Palette 24h Real Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner. It was a pretty good eyeliner and is very similar to the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye liner. However, it has dried up and I'm not getting a nice black line anymore.

Here is a picture with labelled swatches.

I know it's hard to toss makeup away, so I tried to make some use out of the eyeliners. Even though I'm not much of a drawer, I saw some pics on the Internet (I could not find the links anymore because right after I cleared my browser history, my computer just shut down by itself) and drew some of them down. I only drew the flowery pattern without looking at anything.

Hope you won't judge me too hard!

I drew this sometime later and my white bedsheets were in the washer, so don't mind the carpet as the background.

That is it! Thank you for reading :)

Japan Food, Clothing, and Other Stuff Haul Summer 2016

Hey guys!

Recently, I visited Japan and I got a bunch of food and other stuff. Let's jump right into it!

Japan has really unique Kit Kats, so I got a Wa-Ichigo (strawberry), a Strawberry Cheese Cake, and a Sakura Matcha (cherry blossom and green tea) Kit Kat. I wished the Strawberry Cheese Cake came in a larger box like the other two and the Strawberry Cheese Cake tastes pretty similar to the Wa-Ichigo one. The Wa-Ichigo is pretty sweet so if you're not into super sweet stuff, I would recommend the Sakura Matcha.

I also got some gummies (and a Hi-Chew). The top left gummy isn't exactly what one would be used to. I think you will understand when you actually eat it.

My favorite gummy is the Fettuccine Italian Peach gummy. It has a coating on the outside that gives a slightly acidic punch to it. I highly recommend this!

I got some Strawberry Pocky.

I also had a Minute Maid QOO Jelly Drink in the peach flavor. I love this stuff!

Of course, a trip to Japan isn't complete with Royce. Royce is one of my favorite chocolates. The ones I got were Au Lait and Mild Cacao (Liquor Free). I feel like the Mild Cacao is just slightly less sweet than the Au Lait but I like them both. These chocolates just melt in your mouth. Oh god I want one now.

The clothing items I got were all from Uniqlo. These are some heat tech clothing which uses special technology to keep you warmer. I've never had the leggings before so I'm excited to try them out. The ones I had before I got these were the Extra Warm long sleeves, which I could feel were thicker and retained heat better, but since I'm going to LA for college I don't think I would need Extra Warm ones. But seriously, if you are going to some cold place, I highly recommend heat tech.

Here are some other stuff that I got!

I visited the Pokemon Center in Sapporo JR Tower ESTA. Pokemon is my childhood and I got a Bulbasaur and a Jigglypuff plush! Definitely bringing these to college.

The guy gave me a Metapod tissue pack.

I also got a towel that shows a 100 million Japanese yen bill. I just thought it was cool. I would love to have 100 million yen!

That is all I have for this post! I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for reading :)
