Review: L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream and Shea Butter Verbena Soap

Hi guys!

This is gonna be a really simple post on the L'Occitane products I have so far.

Firstly, I have this Shea Butter Hand Cream for dry skin. My dad's colleague gave this to me. She's so nice! Anyway, I really like this since it's so moisturizing and it smells very natural too. By the way, this hand cream is REALLY huge.

Next, I also have the Shea Butter Verbena Soap. This smells so good! I think it smells like lime and it's really clean and fresh. Sometimes, I use this to wash my make up brushes and it actually works very well!

Yeah and that's all I have! I know L'Occitane has some really nice smelling hand creams so if you happen to go to the store, go check it out!

Bye guys!

Anyway, I met up with my old school friend, Qiling this afternoon and we had a great 3-4 hour chat. Basically we just talked about school and life and well, a lot of stuff.

I'm so glad to be able to meet up with her! Haven't seen her in like a year or so.

Innisfree, Skin Food, Nature Republic and It's Skin Haul! (October Break 2013 Seoul and Jeju Island Trip)

Hey guys!

Alright I'm doing a combined post for the rest of the stuff I got from Korea.

I'm starting off with Innisfree. I got like A LOT of masks since it was like buy 3 get 3 free or something. I didn't use a lot of them yet because I just don't have time to lie on my bed even for 20 minutes. I did use one of the Green Tea masks and it was pretty nice. Most of these are from plants. I don't know what it does but masks are good when you're taking a 20 minute nap or if you're just chilling out. Anyway, all of these were pretty inexpensive. I can't find the prices for these because these all came in a pack of 10.

I actually got this in the Lotte Duty Free shopping mall, and I'm telling you, there were SO MANY CHINESE PEOPLE. It scared the crap out of me because everyone was grabbing so much stuff. By the time I got there in the afternoon, not a lot of masks were left and I consider myself REALLY lucky to get my hands on a rose mask. I know some of the other masks were aloe, honey, cucumber, kiwi and so I would have gotten those if there were any left.

Next, I got this Innisfree Juicy Apple Cleansing Oil. Actually, my mom picked it up but she doesn't need it anymore so I'm using this since I ran out of make up remover. This smells really good! It smells just like apple and what I love is there is this stopper and so if you need to bring it overseas with you, it TRIES to prevent leakage from the pump. The oil is thicker and it spreads less easily, so I feel that I need about two full pumps every time I need to remove my make up, or else it isn't enough. Innisfree's website says that this cost 13000Won. I'm pretty sure I got it for a slightly cheaper price.

Another item my mom picked up is this Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. Apparently it cost 22000Won on the website. I'm not sure if that's considered expensive? It's like 22USD. This is some really intense face mask! It's really thick and I needed a lot of strength to squeeze out the product. It's grayish and slightly blueish in color. I think this is super effective like I can feel my whole face burning throughout the twenty minutes I was using this mask. I feel like my skin became really tight right after I removed this. I personally think this is more suitable for slightly older women. I'm 16 and I think normal masks will be nice for now. But when I get older, I think I would go back to using this.

Selfie time! #toosexy

Moving on to Skin Food! I got a moisturizer and this is the Royal Honey Hydro Cream. THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOISTURIZER. This is soooo hydrating, and it makes my skin super smooth in the winter time. I also find the packaging really simple and nice. I remember this being 14000 or 15000Won, which I think is really worth the price for this quality. The honey smell is prominent but not overpowering. I've been using this every night and I'm totally in love with this. I don't know what else to say. This is probably one of my best buys in Korea!

Nature Republic gave me some free mask samples. Actually I think every store gave me samples, but I just happened to have a picture of it. I have tried one of these masks and it serves its job of hydrating my skin.

What I got is the Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera Gel for only 4400Won. That's REALLY cheap and the quantity is HUGE. At the duty free stores, they sold it in a pack of 6 but I didn't need that many of them so I just got one at the real store. I think this is really nice and I use this in the day before I put on my make up especially on my pimples. I still find the Royal Honey moisturizer more moisturizing than this one but a good thing about aloe vera is that it works really well on insect bites/itches.

This is from It's Skin and its the Snail Moisture Mask Sheet which my mom picked up. I know snail masks are really hot now in Korea. Honestly, I feel that all masks are pretty much the same so... This is more expensive than the Innisfree masks though. This came in a pack of 25 and it cost 26850Won. My mom heard It's Skin's snail masks are one of the best, which is probably why she got it.

And so that's all I have! I will probably be giving some of these masks to my relatives or my friends who have upcoming birthdays. I hope you enjoyed this post and I shall get off my laptop and start studying for math already.

Bye guys! (:

Review: Empties (Winter 2013)

Hi guys!

Alright I'm gonna do an "Empties" post which is basically a post on products that I have finished up and my thoughts on them.

Firstly, I have this sample of Philosophy's Hands of Hope Hand and Cuticle Cream. This is actually really nice and it's unscented so if you don't like hand creams with fragrances, this is really good. As for me, I'm alright with both unscented and scented hand creams.

I also finished using up this Philosophy Hope in A Stick Lip Balm. I'm currently using another one and this is one of the BEST lip balms I have ever used. This is super moisturizing and it is my life-saver during winter. I have a couple other lip balms I will talk about in this post but this is one of my favorites so far. It's also unscented so that's something for you guys to think about.

Another lip balm that I have finished using is this Alba Un-Petroleum Lip Balm with SPF-18 Vanilla my mum got for me somewhere in the US. I feel that it's an average lip balm, but it does a pretty decent job. I knew that this is REALLY cheap so yeah it's good if you're broke. (;

Now, I have another lip balm that I have used up... Yes, I use lip balms A LOT because my lips are just really dry. This is the L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lip Balm. I'm kind of disappointed for this one. A lot of people gave reviews saying that this is moisturizing and they like it but I just do not feel the same way. It feels moisturizing when you are in the process of applying it but once you take it off your lips, it really does not feel moisturizing. I think this is alright if I were to use it in the summer but there's no way I'm going to use this during the winter again. I technically did not buy this, my dad gets some of these from the airplanes that he flew in.

Also, I'm very surprised that this lip balm actually is really... short. Some lip balms are like superrrrrr long and you can turn and turn and never see an end to it. So since it's not very moisturizing and I had to use it a lot, it ran out really fast.

Next, I have this sample of the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. Okay I think Clinique is known for their unscented products, but sometimes I felt that there was a kind of "smell" to this moisturizer... You know sometimes, unscented stuff are so natural that the ingredients will produce their scents? I know the actual moisturizer is in a really big bottle, and I don't think it's very expensive too, so if you're alright with the smell, you can go try it out. It's moisturizing, but I do have a moisturizer that I like much more than this one (I'll do a separate post on that soon).

This is a make up remover that I have finished using. This is really just a random make up remover my mum got for me online. It works well and I'm pretty sure it's rather inexpensive, but I always feel like there is still some of it left in my eyes even after a shower, which is slightly annoying.

This is the Body Shop's Aloe Gentle Facial Wash that I have finished using. To be honest, I think I've used up three of these already. I like how it's super foamy and it doesn't sting your skin unlike some cleansers. This is my normal facial wash while showering but most of the time at night before I sleep, I will use another facial wash. Most of TBS's products are really affordable and so I will just continue purchasing this facial wash for now.

Also from The Body Shop, I finished using up the Passion Fruit Shower Gel. Actually I used up one before already. I think this is a bestseller in the stores and it always ran out of stock in Singapore. It does smell really good but I like the strawberry one more!

Thanks for reading! I hope you liked this post and I hope it has helped you a little. (:

Review: Mint Candy Apple Nail Polish

Hey guys!

So I did my nails and this is Essie's Mint Candy Apple. This is one of my favorites. It's such a pretty color! I got this in the US drugstore for $8 or $9 I think.

Alicia Keys Concert

Hey guys!

I went to the Alicia Keys concert some time ago, on 20th November. Haha yes it's been some time.

Concert selfie!

The concert was really good. To be honest, my brother kinda dragged me there. And I only knew 4 of her songs. She sang some of her new songs from her Girl On Fire album. And towards the end, she sang If I Ain't Got You, No One, Girl on Fire and Empire State of Mind.

Guess what, I saw my chemistry teacher. LOL. He's such a hipster.

Okay here are some shots from the concert:

Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Damn Alicia, you so fine.

MY FAVORITE SHOT OF ALICIA.

She changed her outfit for the Empire State of Mind song as you can see.

I'm not sure if I should upload videos... It's really blurry anyway and it will take years to upload.

All pictures taken with my 70-300mm Canon zoom lens. Thank goodness for zoom lens. I know some of the pictures are a little blurry but I tried my best.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
