Review: Colourpop and Kathleenlights X Colourpop Lip Products

Hey guys!

This is going to be a review for the Colourpop lip products, and also Colourpop's collaboration with Kathleenlights. These are my opinions on these products as they have been super popular on the Internet. I have already done a haul post, which you can view here but this will be a more in depth review on the lip products. I will not be talking about the eyeshadows for now but I just had a picture with the lip products and the eyeshadows.

I will first be talking about Colourpop's own line of lip products, and then I will be talking about the collaboration with Kathleen lights.

Right now, I've tried every shade in this picture, except for Friday as I didn't get a chance to use it yet.

Firstly, I LOVE the ultra glossy lip in the shade Weho. It is a creme finish and is highly pigmented. It's my everyday brownish nude and I have even gotten a second tube for this as I truly do like it. For $6, I think this is definitely worth it.

Now, the ultra matte lips are definitely not my favorite liquid lipsticks. They are harder to work with as they look pretty dry on my lips. A trick I found is to make sure your lips are coated with vaseline, applying an EXTREMELY thin layer of the liquid lipstick, and making sure you don't press your lips together.

Autocorrect is a nice shade, but I just tend to reach for Weho more since they have similar undertones.

Trap is a really unique shade and I don't wear it all the time as it only goes with certain outfits. It has a purplely-pink undertone and when I use my trick to reduce the creasing of the liquid lipstick, it does look really nice. I also attached photos below of me wearing Trap.

I haven't really gotten to use Limbo all that much, so I'm hoping to use it more often.

Beeper is similar to Trap but is slightly darker.

I have not used Friday yet.

Alright, now this is the Colourpop and Kathleenlights collarboration. I got the Aquarius kit since I have looked at other lip products that Kathleen has collaborated on but I felt like I won't be using some of those shades as much as the other shades that I already have. However, I have seen her use Aquarius on her Youtube channel and I really like the shade, which is why I settled for this specific set.

The one downside to Colourpop packaging is that the words tend to rub off rather quickly and since all three shades are so similar, it is hard to differentiate them when the words get rubbed off. The ultra glossy lip and ultra satin lip are both called Aquarius while the ultra matte lip is called Aquarius 2.

Here are swatches for all 3 formulas.

Like I mentioned, the Ultra Matte Lip tends to make your lips look really dry and this is without the trick I use. As you can see in the last picture, you would also have to be careful of pressing your lips together.

This is the ultra satin lip. I think this is much more forgiving with creases and lines, and overall, looks pretty pleasant.

Lastly, this is the ultra glossy lip. It definitely goes well with a number of outfits and it's one of my favorite lip glosses. I've already gotten two more tubes of this because I love this shade so much and it's just such a pretty pinky nude.

This is me wearing the ultra glossy lip. The lighting was really bright, so I would refer to the picture above. Also, sorry if the pictures above look a little awkward. I wasn't wearing face makeup and I wanted to zoom in on the lips.

This is the ultra matte lip in Trap. It tends to be a little lighter in reality than in the photos below. You can also definitely see the lines on my lips in the first photo and the lines tend to smooth out when I smile in the second photo. However, I'm pretty sure I can't smile for 24/7, it'll just hurt my face.

I hope you found this post helpful! Thank you so much for reading and I'll talk to you soon :)
