Sophomore Dance 2014! :)

Hi guys!

On Friday the 7th of March, my school held a sophomore dance and I am part of the Student Council who organized this.

I was seriously drained after the event even though I didn’t even dance much.

Well during lunch, we had a mini stuco meeting... And here are some random shots of people.

Kevin looking real happy.

Winnie being "camera shy" and Mira being adorable.

Daniel and Grace

Chen Wen.

Ok Ellen took a photo of my beautiful eyes.

Sophie.

Before the event, I was getting ready with my friends in the bathroom and we took some legit photos with one another.

Evette.

Not being stereotypical but this is the Asian pose by Katherine and Vivian.

Outfit details time!
Earrings: Diva
Flower pin: H&M
Dress: Cotton On
Knit cardigan: American Eagle Outfitters
Knit leggings.
Shoes: Bershka

There are some attached links to my previous posts on some of the outfit items so if you're bored you can go check them out.

I set up the lights and camera for the photo booth and I took photos for parts of the dance.

I’m glad that my close friends all came and the food was pretty good, especially the burger. There were also performances from people in the grade and I really admire them because my singing skills suck.

The place was SO PRETTY. I cannot even describe how touched I feel when I walked into the hall. However, I have to admit that the atmosphere was a little… boring. I don’t know why so many people were not dancing. I think it’s partly because of the music which was not “pumped up” enough. So for underclassmen prom, called MORP, I will definitely be the DJ.

Photos of friends/with friends!

Random photo of me before the event.

The faces of the people who weren't ready though.

Hannah.

Nicole.

Katherine.

Emily and Hannah.

Sandra and Rachel.

HAHA Mr Gibson's face.

Ok guys this is officially my signature pose.

Weird photos of Billy.

Sophie was taking a lot of photos of me so yeah.

Rachel.

I had fun with a lot of people and it was a night well spent! I’m looking forward to the next dance already and hopefully it will be even more fun and awesome. (:

Review: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

Hey guys!

I’m writing a quick review for the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation. I have finished using this and I can now give you a comprehensive review of the product.

This is how it looks like and I have it in the shade NC25.

My dad picked it out at an airport duty free shop around last April for me. It was a really long time ago and it took me a really long time to finish using this because I was using my Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! foundation for quite some time simultaneously. Firstly, the packaging is simple and it’s not fancy. It's also very handy to bring it around with you because the cap can be screwed on really tightly. This is a foundation for dry skin. MAC had another foundation called the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF which is for oily skin.

When I first started using this, it was somehow too light for my skin, but now it's alright. That sounds kind of weird but that's just what I realized only a few weeks ago.

I didn't really like this foundation. It feels VERY heavy and it makes it so obvious that you're wearing makeup. No matter how much I tried to blend it, it just does not give that flawless, smooth and non-cakey look. I'm having swimming for PE nowadays, and I when I come out of the pool, I can still see a visible smile line. Like come on, I'm only 17 and if this foundation is giving me "wrinkles", it just isn't right. I expected a lot more from MAC because it's definitely a high-end store.

On the other hand, the good thing about this foundation is that the coverage is REALLY good after 2-3 layers. I don't really need to put concealer over my face after I used this. The lasting power is also superb. Like I said before, I'm having swimming and when I came out of the pool one day, I was very surprised that I still had a really good coverage on my skin. When I went swimming with the Benefit foundation (mixed in with a lot of other BB creams since it was too dark for my skin), the foundation is totally washed off and you know how I look without makeup. Also, this foundation has SPF 15 and it's great since it protects you from the UV rays! I don't have to apply sunblock on my face since I used this (but I never apply sunblock on my face anyways).

Yeah me and my messy hair after swimming but whatever.

I have some acne problems on my face but as you can tell, they are not THAT visible even after swimming.

Do ignore the random strands of hair that interrupted the picture.  This is what I mean by cakey. It's like the foundation cannot be pressed on you know? Look at the chin.

And this is the smile line that never goes away and I have to use my fingers to blend it out several times in school. You can also see that the foundation does not make my face look "smooth".

Personally speaking, I didn't enjoy this foundation as much as I thought I would. I read other reviews and other people said that it was not cakey at all etc. but some also said that it felt very heavy and cakey. I really love MAC's lipsticks and blushes and I think those are gorgeous but something's not right with this product. It's up to you to try it out I guess!

I hope you found this helpful and thanks for reading. (:

Winter Perfumes 2013-2014

Hi guys!

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for not blogging for so long. I am extremely busy nowadays and I still have lots of stuff to do.

But anyway, I'd like to share my winter perfumes that I have been using from 2013-2014! Nice smelling perfumes are extremely important in my life. I actually don't have A LOT of winter perfumes compared to my summer perfumes, and some of these are more suitable for the fall season. All of these last a long time because they are not just "Fragrance Mists" or "Body Splashes", they are all EDP/EDT.

I'm going to talk about the Abercrombie & Fitch 8 perfume first. This is an EDP and this is the 50ml sized perfume. I'm not sure if A&F has a 100ml sized one because I really like this! Unfortunately, when my dad helped me to get this in an A&F store in Singapore, he told me that it was really expensive (Around $90). I was a little surprised because it's not like a branded perfume you know? I will try to find other ways to get it at a less expensive price if I ever finish using up this because I absolutely love this.

This perfume smells more masculine and you probably know I actually like slightly more masculine scents already. It is really musky and there's also a vanilla and citrus scent to it. As you can see, I've used up quite a lot already, which really means that I love it a lot. Well, the packaging is really simple and classy, and it is also rather seductive. This is definitely one of my favorite perfumes out of all the perfumes I have because it is very unique.

And this is the Viva La Juicy EDP by Juicy Couture. I know a number of teenage girls have this because the scent really suits young ladies. This is one of the perfumes that has an awesome packaging. I just think that it's so cute and sassy. I got this for a less expensive price than the 8 perfume (around $70). This is the 100ml bottle, and frankly, I think this will last me around 3 years. The bottle is just huge!

This perfume is really sweet, and I always smell caramel, vanilla, and sweets in this perfume. You can probably tell that I have not used much of this at all, but that's because I just got this in January while in Singapore. Also, it is really bulky and heavy, so I find myself bringing it to school less frequently than the other perfumes I bring to school. Overall, I think this is a nice perfume for young ladies but it is overhyped, which is probably because of the packaging. Furthermore, this perfume is so popular I don't think you want to smell the same as everyone else.

This is Twilight Woods by Bath and Body Works. I clearly remember I got this for only TWENTY DOLLARS while in Toronto. I was sooooo lucky because I just happened to catch their semi-annual sale. This is an EDT but the staying power is really powerful. In my opinion, this is even sweeter than Viva La Juicy. If you're not a big fan of vanilla and gourmet scents, I recommend that you stay away from this. I wanted Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works but I felt that it was just too sweet for me when I tested it. Someone once said they smell marshmallows when I walked into the room while I was wearing Twilight Woods, which I'd take as a compliment because I love marshmallows.

This is really woodsy, as suggested in the name. I think this packaging is also really simple and pretty! I'm not sure if BBW has changed their packaging but I kind of like this packaging a lot, I don't know why. Overall, I think this is a great scent, but I don't think I will repurchase this because the sweetness is starting to get overwhelming after some time!

The last perfume I will be talking about is the Burberry Brit EDP. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the bomb. Like seriously, this is my all time favorite perfume. I fell in love when I first smelt it and I begged my mom to let me get it. I'm pretty sure my mom does not regret letting me get this because she likes it too. It is a high end perfume and it is expensive, but I think that it's worth it.

This perfume lasts a really long time. And I get a lot of compliments when I wear this perfume. My friends say, "Omg you smell nice" and "you smell like vanilla" all the time. I'm not sure if the guys can smell the perfume or if they just don't say anything but a lot of girls always ask me what I was wearing.

I smell vanilla, lime, and almond in this perfume. I absolutely love this and I wished I bought the 100ml bottle but the store I went to only had the 50ml one. I have also used up a lot of this and I'm feeling sad because I just want to keep using this forever! This definitely smells more mature than Twilight Woods and Viva La Juicy. The packaging is not super impressive but the content in the bottle is mind-blowing. I'm not sure if any other perfume smells like Burberry Brit because it smells very unique.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! (:

10 Unpopular Opinions

Hi guys!

A few days ago, #ConfessYourUnpopularOpinion was trending on Twitter. I thought I share with you what my unpopular opinions are! I believe everyone has their own opinion on different things, and if you don't agree with me, it's perfectly fine! Here goes...

1) Girls taking photos in the fitting room.
Why are you even doing that? Do you not realize that people how long the queue is and people are waiting for you to get out and buy your clothes so that they can actually try out their clothes? Go home and take selfies oh my god.

2) One Direction is overrated.
I don't see why people go so crazy over them. I honestly think it's just because of their looks and British accents. Their lyrics are just so repetitive and I don't consider their songs as good music.

3) Posting bikini/beach photos are perfectly fine.
People are just having fun at the beach. Why do you go on and judge them, and say, "What's wrong with you? Stop showing off your body." Hey at least they are confident with whatever their body looks like. But if people are not at the beach and they post bikini pictures, I would find that weird and that they are just simply showing off their body.

4) I can't stand people saying that Lorde is ugly.
You won't want people to take a photo of you singing at random times do you? People smile and pose at certain times because they are ready to get a photo taken. You may say she looks really old but the fact is, she's still 17 and she's probably much more successful than you are when you're 17.

5) I really dislike Justin Bieber.
He's way too arrogant. Being 2 hours late for concerts? Spitting at fans? Parking his Ferrari in the handicapped parking lot? He's not a decent human being. So what if you're a celebrity? That doesn't give you the right to treat everyone like they are inferior. Bieber fans are saying that we should "forgive" Justin for drink driving. How narrow-minded can they get? People DIE from other people's stupidity. Is it fair for them then? And his mug shot. He thinks he's such a swaggy.

6) You can say that our education system is too stressful, it doesn't recognize different people's talent and it's unfair, but are there certain things that are actually valuable?
I can list a 100 reasons why I don't like school, but there's always something more valuable to school. School teaches you to work hard. School teaches you to deal with different people. School teaches you to communicate in front of a crowd. You don't like school? Deal with it. You may not realize it now, but the little things you don't notice are going to help you in future.

7) I don't like to be around people who radiate negativeness.
"Give everyone a chance". Would you like to be friends with someone who never smiles, who never laughs, and who is constantly sarcastic?

8) I don't get teens who drink alcohol.
Firstly, many of them are not even legal. Secondly, they are drinking alcohol just to make themselves look good, or give themselves an excuse to do stupid stuff. Thirdly, I learnt in PE that alcohol damages the teenage brain, which basically makes them more dumb. Basically, their wasting their youth and their potential to do so much more.

9) I hate Chinese New Year music.
Enough said, they are just so loud and annoying.

10) Makeup is fantastic.
I know people always say, "Natural beauty is the best", but makeup makes almost everyone instantly more confident. I do not fully agree with people saying, "With or without makeup, you're still the same beautiful lady". I mean it's a really nice thing to say, but obviously there is a difference when people put on makeup. The whole point of makeup is to look better. I see the transformation on myself and on others. Makeup really helps to enhance my face and I become so much more confident talking to my friends or even to a guy. I believe that makeup is a wonderful creation, and that is why my dream is to work in a well-known makeup company in future. I want to contribute to this wonderful world and help fellow ladies like me become more confident of themselves.

Hopefully some of my thoughts are the same as yours but of course they don't have to be. Thanks for reading!
