HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! :D

Hi guys!

Happy Valentine's Day! (:

With or without a date today, I hope you had a great day! Don't be depressed if you don't have a girlfriend/boyfriend because the right person will definitely come.

Anyway, today is the best Valentine's Day I had in my life so far! I made cards for my friends and  some teachers and the cards were really funny. Some of them seriously LOLed when they read the card.

For example:

It's less fun if your friends don't really get it and you have to explain it to them but most of the friends and teachers I gave cards to get it. I hope they really liked it!

I also got some roses (from girls)! I'm personally thanking Rachel, JE, Jennifer, and Andrea and Joyce here. (:

A photo with Jennifer!

And now I will unleash the cray-crayness.

I was actually really happy today and I didn't feel depressed that I didn't have a boyfriend or whatever at all! If you show love to the people around you, you will also get love from the people around you.

I had to stay back afterschool because I had to go for Awards Ceremony for 2nd Season since Basketball had ended. So I met up with my team for a team dinner at a Pizza place. I still have no idea what the name of the restaurant is.

And then we were sitting in the Performing Arts Center for almost 2 hours listening to the coaches talk about their team and giving out awards. I feel really good about my team because we had a team garment and it just makes us look really bonded and strong! When my team went on stage, I was really not expecting for an award or anything... But I got a pleasant surprise.

I hope you don't think that I'm bragging or whatever. I'm just really shocked but appreciative of this.

But you know what I have to say to all the athletes reading this? You can never be the best if you don't put in effort. You have to go in there, thinking you're gonna play your best. Like I get so depressed and affected if I miss shots. And I will continue to dwell on it. But the next time I play, I tell myself I will not make the same mistakes again and I do so much better. Overall, you have to have confidence and NEVER fear your opponents. So yeah, always aim to be the best!

That's all I did today. I'm really tired but today was so good. Thank you to all my friends who made today a wonderful day! (:

Review: Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara

Hi guys!

I am writing a review for the Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Very Black.

I've never heard of this mascara until my Dad got it back from the US for me. Actually, I sent him a picture of the Falsies Waterproof, which I wanted but I think he got it mixed up. So anyway, since I was running out of my mascara, I decided to give this a try.

I do not like this mascara and I will now tell you why.

So this mascara comes with an upper lash brush and a lower lash brush. When I saw this I thought, "Uhh................. Okay................." because I don't put mascara on my lower lashes! I already have eyebags that seem PERMANENT. No matter how much sleep I get, my eyebags just don't go away.  Plus, my eyebags are not the "puffy" kind of eyebags, they are the red/purple-ish eyebags... I've had them since I was really young so I've kinda learnt to live with it. I do use a concealer on my undereyes and I do not want to add anything to my lower lashes to draw any unwanted attention to my undereyes. The only time I ever use the lower lash brush is when I have to go back in to my upper lashes to add volume. The brushes are fairly tiny. I think I personally prefer SLIGHTLY bigger brushes.

I hate how this applies. It takes me FOREVER to build volume. I hate spending so much time doing my make up on school days because I just really want to sleep in for another 5-10 minutes. I have to do 2 coats + 2 coats of using the lower lash brush to get into the really tiny gaps.

This is one coat of the mascara. You can really see how thin and sparse it makes my lashes look. I honestly think my lashes look better without this.

Another reason I dislike this mascara is that it holds a curl well for a few short hours, but it will weigh my lashes back down after a longer period of time. By the time I get home from school, my lashes look like how they naturally are. I do not have lashes that grow straight down but if you're someone with lashes that do not have a curl, I recommend that you stay away from mascaras like this.

Lastly, I get A LOT of fall out at the end of the day from this mascara. It's really annoying because I have to keep checking on them at school and I want to be more carefree! When I wore this to Basketball practice, it did not look good after the practice... There was visible smudging and fallout.

I will definitely NOT recommend this mascara. I think I'm going to toss this away really soon.

I promise you that I'll do a review on the Maybelline Falsies and the Rocket, which are really popular on Youtube and on the Internet. And I'll probably do a comparison!

I hope you found this review helpful and thank you for reading. (:

H&M and Sephora Haul!

Hi guys!

So my brother went out today and I thought, "Okay why don't I go out too and go shopping since I don't want to stay at home the whole day."

We went to Grand Gateway (上海港汇广场). I had some donuts for lunch and then I went to H&M. It isn't in the mall but it's only a 5 minute walk to the store. I was so surprised that the store was so empty. It didn't feel like China at all. Today is Friday, and it's the Chinese New Year break so I thought that there should be a lot of people out on the streets. Perhaps it was because of the rain and the cold so there wasn't a lot of people shopping.

There wasn't much sales in the shop and I only had 500RMB with me so I had to spend wisely. The best type of shopping is when you have your parents to pay for everything you get. But I guess I'm starting to mature and I really don't want to waste my parents' money.

Anyway, I wanted a pair of combat boots and that is the main reason for me to shop today. I saw that a pair of maroon combat boots I wanted were 299RMB, which is around 49.32USD and 62.55SGD. I felt like they were pretty but then I thought I should just go to the US and get similar boots for a slightly cheaper price. Like some combat boots at target are $30+. Also, I wear size 41 but when I tried the size 41, it was sooooo big. And the shelves were so high I couldn't even reach the back row. Yeah when I cannot reach the back row (I'm 173.5cm tall), don't even talk about people with average height looking for their sizes...

So I just looked around and found some items. This is the first time I ever spent about 1 and a half hour in a store. It was seriously so spacious and I could really take a look at everything.

I'm taking my photos at a kinda awkward place because I needed better lighting...

I got a polka dotted hair bow! This looks so cute. I’m probably gonna style my hair differently from these pictures. I just want to give you an idea of how the bow looks on my hair. This was not on sale and I got this for 29.90RMB.

Next, I got a small pencil case with really adorable comic animations and words on it! I will probably not be storing any of my school stationery here because they won't fit in here. I just have too much stationery... I will probably use this to store my eyeliners though! (: This was also not on sale and I got this for 29.90RMB.

I also got a pair of hair clips. I intend to use these when I'm sectioning my hair when I'm curling/straightening it. These were on sale for 10RMB and it was buy 1 get 1 free so I got some flower clips along with these.

And I FINALLY got some super skinny jeans which is in the classic dark navy color. I have to admit that I have many pairs of jeans but some of them don't fit me well. Also, this looks lighter on the pictures here than in reality. This was not on sale and I got this for 199RMB, which I will consider as a pretty decent price.

And I also like jeans that have a logo at the back.

Last but not least, I got a FOX BEANIE for 79.90RMB. This is actually for Nicole because her birthday is coming up soon. I really hope she likes it! AND I hope she's not reading this now because that would be a total spoiler.

Moving on to my Sephora Haul!

Actually I only got 1 item. LOL. But seriously, I just feel like everything in China is somewhat overpriced and I'm pretty sure I'm going to the US sooner or later and I can buy all the make up I want there.

I got a Sephora Eyeliner which is called the Crayon Jumbo Liner 12 Hour Wear in Number 11, Turquoise. I'm not sure if China has the same colors as the ones in the US or in other countries. Anyway, this was on sale for 60RMB, which is why I got it. It's only 9.90USD and 12.56SGD. I think that's PRETTY INEXPENSIVE. I just checked it online and the original price was 119RMB, which is 19.63USD. That's insane. I am pretty sure I can buy high end eyeliners in the US for that price. Now you see how China's Sephora is ridiculously overpriced?

I think this screams summer and poolside parties. I've actually been wanting a turquoise eyeliner for quite some time.

I decided to test if it was waterproof. So I got in the shower and did what I need to do and then I went to take a look at it. I let the water hit my eyes and also did some occasional rubbing off the water from my eyes. This is how it looks like after I showered. I guess this isn't very waterproof, and you can clearly see that there is smudging. I personally will not go into the pool and swim for hours in this eyeliner but I think if I'm going for a poolside party with my friends and if they push me into the water, and I get out after that, this is perfectly alright.

I'm sorry if the photo looks kinda blurry. the camera was dumb and focussed on my hair instead.

And that would be all for my haul today!

I am pretty satisfied with what I got today and I really don't want CNY break to end... No, schoooooool. :(

Thanks for reading! :)

Singapore Food ❤

Hey guys!

Basically, I took photos of what I ate in Singapore during my winter break and I'm gonna share my thoughts on them. Food in Singapore is probably what Singapore has best. If I put a ★ next to it, that's my MUST EAT. So keep a look out for that!

★ Ban Mian:
My favorite hawker food. <3 If you're not familiar with hawker centers, it's basically an area where there are many stalls. There are the air-conditioned ones which are like food courts in malls and those which are not air-conditioned.

★ Koi:
Koi is definitely one of my favorite bubble tea stores. I actually only drink the ice cream milk tea from Koi and I love it so much.

The white thing in the middle is the ice cream.

Yami Yogurt:
I was shopping but I was too lazy to eat proper food and so I just got some yogurt. It's just yogurt so there's nothing really special about it.

士林 Chicken:
I only ate the chicken cutlet from this store and I think it's just another snack I will eat when I'm too lazy/busy to eat proper food. It's pretty good though!

Carrot Cake:
This is another classic hawker food. My brother likes it much more than I do. Sometimes, we eat this for breakfast!

★ Sin Kee Chicken Rice:
Chicken rice is so good, but you have to go to this Sin Kee eating place. It's in Queenstown, and it's pretty close to the Queenstown library. I cannot tell you how much I love chicken rice and this chicken rice is definitely a MUST EAT. My family can totally finish an entire chicken because it's so good. I know the pictures don't look very appetizing but if you're going to Singapore, just go eat it.

★ Gong Cha:
Here's another bubble tea store I love and I almost always get the honey milk tea. Sometimes I get passionfruit tea but I feel like it's too sweet. I would prefer Gong Cha to Koi because I personally like bigger pearls.

★ Laksa:
This is another favorite hawker food of mine. I don't really like to eat too much spicy food but there's no doubt I would eat this.

Crystal Jade Kitchen:
This is the roasted duck from Crystal Jade Kitchen. Who doesn't like roasted duck. :p

My mom says that this is called roasted pork belly. Basically, the skin is crispy but the meat is soft. It's really good.

Owen Seafood Restaurant:
If you love seafood, this restaurant is awesome. It's in Bukit Timah and when I was living in Singapore, my house was in Bukit Timah and so on lazy Saturday nights when my dad doesn't feel like cooking, my family will eat there.

You can even pick out the seafood that you want, whether you want a smaller sized or a larger sized creature. They calculate the weight of it and you pay accordingly.

Clams.

Fried eel (one of my favs from here).

 Alaska crab in egg white.

★ Black pepper crab. This is another must eat in Singapore. You should be able to find this at any seafood restaurant. Another alternative Singaporeans like is the Chili crab. I prefer black pepper to Chili so I've never eaten Chili crab before.

★ Sugar Cane:
This is available in practically any hawker center and it's my favorite hawker drink. Plus, the storeowner usually makes the drink by running the sugar cane through machines on the spot, so it's freshly made.

Yang Chow Fried Rice:
My brother is a sucker for this. He asks my dad if he can have a plate in almost every restaurant. Good news is, this is also available in many hawker centers so you don't have to pay as much compared to if you eat it in restaurants.

Pastamania:
This is just a restaurant where you can eat pasta, pizzas, and other Italian food. I forgot the name of the pasta I ate there but I love cream based pastas!

★ Hokkein Mee:
This is a hawker food and this is seriously soooooo good. You have to try it out if you're in Singapore. You really won't regret it.

★ KFC Cheese Fries:
This is the only junk food that I will ever eat in Singapore. And for all the health freaks out there, you won't regret giving this a try. You still can get rid of those calories but if you didn't try this out just because you wanna be thin and fit and you boycott every single junk food out there, I feel sorry for you.

#foodporn

★ Hor Fun:
Another hawker food once again. Absolutely love this.

 ★ Minced Pork Noodles:
And another hawker food once again. My dad always brings my family to the hawker center at Raffles Place. Apparently, he really likes this one particular stall. Well, if you go there, just look out for the stall with the longest queue for this. Seriously, minced pork noodles are good.

★ Garrett Popcorn:
This is perfection. When I shop at 313 Somerset, I can smell the popcorn from like 5 meters away. I believe the flavor I got was caramel crisp? When I was back last December, it was actually my first time trying out Garrett Popcorn because my mom never allowed me to eat popcorn for non-movie purposes I don't know why...

Popeyes:
I had Popeyes when I was chilling with Tzire. The fries are kinda unique.

7/11's Slurpee:
I really love drinking Slurpee especially because Singapore's so warm and humid. It's basically an ice-blended drink.

Kit Kat Chunky:
I can't believe Shanghai doesn't have this! I love white chocolates and this particular chocolate has such a thick coating of white chocolate and there's even a waffle inside.

★ Island Creamery:
One of my favorite ice creams! I know it doesn't look that good but it tastes awesome. My favorite flavor is the Nutella/Hazelnut flavor. <3

Macarons:
I really like Macarons but I don't think you have to particularly eat macarons from Bakerzin, which is where I got these from. Singapore has a lot of stores that sell Macarons, however, I feel that they are pretty expensive. I'm not sure if it's cheaper in France and I should go check it out the next time I travel to France.

<3

Alright so that's all I have! I hope you got some new ideas of what to eat if you're going to Singapore on a vacation. Trust me, I've lived in Singapore for 15 years. I know most of the good stuff. Actually, you just have to go to hawker centers/food courts. They have everything there. Singapore food is really diversified and there is Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western food everywhere.

Thanks for reading (:
